Latigo asserts that it has been advised by the Internal Revenue Service that it meets the requirements for exemption under Section 501(c) (3) of the Code, gifts to which may be deducted as charitable contributions under section 170 of the Code. The Internal Revenue Service has affirmed that Latigo is organized for charitable purposes and entitled to tax-exempt status pursuant to the principles announced by the Internal Revenue Service in Revenue Ruling 69-257, 1996-1 C.B. 151.
